Your vintage video tapes may be in need of some affection. Mold can begin to grow within the cassettes. The tape can begin to get sticky. Most users clean their machines, but how about the tapes themselves? For long term storage, or before a video transfer, a cleaning can be important for the safety or your images.

For tapes with mold, we clean both the tape and the plastic housing. When necessary we replace the affected cassette with a new exterior. Removing the video tape for cleaning (VHS, 8mm, MiniDV, etc.) and placing it in a restored cassette can add years of safer shelf life for your collection.
A VCR has many moving parts. Introducing dirt, mold or any unwanted textures to the video heads and machinery is risky. A gentle cleaning adds life to your tape decks in addition to improving the visual images.
